Once we understand that Daniel's lion, bear and leopard are the ancient kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece, and realize that the countries occupying the seats of those kingdoms today are Iraq, Iran and Syria/Lebanon, it's easy to understand the seat of John's leopard-bear-lion beast of Revelation 13. Muhammad is distinguished by others for his Quran ("that" of 1a), and without question is "known" throughout the world for it. A perfect fit!

Since a 1900 year gap separates the two views, each must consider the other virtually 100 percent wrong in regard to the book of Revelation.

It's not a surprise then to realize that both groups abandoned the traditional continuous-historic hermeneutic, in which Christians and Jews universally understand Old Testament prophecy was fulfilled, in favor of their chosen doctrines. To recognize Muhammad as THE false prophet then, would require each to abandon entirely their chosen eschatology, in favor of the traditional view that they both hold for OT prophecy.
